The challenge
BYD's BatteryBox energy storage solution required a structured European market entry — with the DACH region as the central focus market and a wider reach across the EU.
The brand needed more than visibility. It needed market education: residential and light commercial energy storage was, at the time, an emerging category that buyers, installers and partners were still learning to evaluate. The communications programme had to position BatteryBox credibly while also broadening understanding of the storage segment itself.
A second dimension of the brief was partner communications. Storage in the residential and light commercial segment is sold and installed through specialist partners. The programme therefore needed a strong peer-to-peer communications component, anchored in the social media platforms that those partners actually use.
